1- What's the Douzelage ?

Non political non religious association
A
unique twinning, first with eleven towns (without Sesimbra)
then twelve, fourteen and fifteen(1999). This twinning aim : develop
all actions between towns

| 2- André Poirier pionnier du Douzelage.
Former reporter retired in Granville, ( He died in 1998),
André Poirier had the idea of a 12 twinning association . At this time,
only 12 countries had entered EU. He was a cultivated man, full of ideas
and projects that he wanted for our city. He had the vision of a
united europ long time before everybody, and he wanted to create cultural
exchanges between towns.

Henri Haffray, In 1990 "adjoint" in the municipality, seduced
by André Poirier original idea, decided to contact european little
towns. And THE DOUZELAGE was born !
